A 16kWh battery label describes nominal stored energy, not guaranteed backup time. Solar MD’s resource centre lists different 16kWh products, including SS216 and SS4160, so buyers should identify the exact model before comparing a quotation.
Identify the correct product
Ask for the full model code and the latest manufacturer datasheet supplied with the offer. Do not assume that two products with the same nominal energy have identical voltage, communications or installation requirements. A manufacturer product listing is not confirmation that Sunlight currently stocks or is authorised to supply that model.
Calculate useful backup
Runtime depends on usable energy, reserve settings, conversion losses and the average supported load. For an illustrative calculation, 12kWh of usable energy supplying an average 2kW load represents about six hours before additional losses or reserve constraints. This example is not a specification or runtime claim for a Solar MD product.
Check the complete installation
Confirm inverter compatibility, battery location, installation conditions and the local warranty process. Request evidence of authorised supply and ask who handles a service claim. Sunlight can discuss storage requirements and available options without assuming that a particular battery brand is suitable for every property.
Your practical checklist
- Record the exact model
- Request usable capacity and supported power
- Check warranty and local supply
What should I confirm before proceeding?
Confirm the current datasheet, compatible inverter and written local warranty.
