Enter your average backup load and the hours you need. Choose a battery option to calculate battery quantity independently of solar-system size.
Required nominal storage = average backup load × hours ÷ 0.8. Divide by the selected module’s nominal energy and round up to whole batteries. If supplied, continuous-current limits and the manufacturer’s minimum count may increase that number. Estimated runtime = calculated battery count × nominal module energy × 0.8 ÷ average load. The 20% allowance is illustrative; actual runtime varies with load, temperature, battery condition and inverter losses.
The battery names are capacity classes. The illustrative 5kWh option uses 51.2V / 100Ah (5.12kWh nominal); 10kWh uses 51.2V / 200Ah (10.24kWh nominal); 16kWh uses 51.2V / 314Ah (approximately 16.08kWh nominal). Actual product ratings and usable energy can differ. The smaller option is company-listed as 3.5kWh / 24V / 100Ah, unverified. Since 24V × 100Ah equals 2.4kWh nominal, this option uses 2.4kWh per module in calculations pending verification. Selecting a battery here does not confirm stock or inverter compatibility.
No. Solar-system kW and package battery counts are not used. Solar panel sizing, daytime consumption, charging power and daily battery recharge need a separate assessment. Extra batteries do not fix an inverter that cannot support the requested load.
Bank totals assume manufacturer-approved parallel operation. Confirm voltage range, BMS communication, continuous and surge current, maximum module count and installation requirements before selecting equipment.
Use the Solar System Size Calculator separately for panel planning.
