Request a clear list of outstanding items and the responsible contact. Keep correspondence with the available project records.
A solar project is easier to manage when handover includes more than a quick demonstration. The owner should receive information that explains what was installed, how it is intended to operate and where to obtain help.
Collect the installation record
Request the final equipment list, model details, relevant diagrams and commissioning information. Keep invoices and warranty terms together. If the finished installation differs from the original proposal, ask for the changes to be reflected in the handover documents.
Learn the user responsibilities
Ask for operating instructions, maintenance guidance and a support contact. Confirm which actions are appropriate for the owner and which require a technician. In a business, nominate someone to retain the records and explain the basic arrangement to replacement staff.
Ask for records that identify the installed system
The handover folder should identify supplied models and serial numbers, operating instructions, warranty documents, agreed support contacts and available design or commissioning records. Ask which circuits are supported during an outage if backup was included. A photograph of an inverter screen is useful context but is not a substitute for the complete record of the installation and its operating limits.
Your practical checklist
- Obtain final equipment and configuration records
- Request a user demonstration
- Keep written support and maintenance arrangements
